I’m happy to finally be able to write again, after busy with my work. This time I want to write about my experience to Goa Gajah or Elephant Cave. Starting from a desk calendar in the office. It was the 1st of May, I came to my friend's workroom, and wished I saw the calendar. That's where I saw the picture of Elephant Cave. At that time I thought I also wanted to go there. It's related to "you see, you want" .hahaha. So i decided to visit Elephant Cave.
Distance from airport 42 km or 71 minutes by car. Elephant Cave was discovered in 1923 and according to Tour guide, in Lontar Negarakertagama book compiled by Mpu Pra Panca in 1365 AD, there is literature that states "Lwa Gajah" meaning river elephant.

Elephant Cave is a temple of worship of the gods Hindu and Buddhist gods during the 9th century Warmadewa dynasty. Yep if confused who it is Mpu Pra Panca and dynasty Warnadewa, let us remembers the history lesson, or can u ask google.^^ I love this temple because this temple is proof that people of antiquity also have a high sense of tolerance.
Entering Elephant Cave area as usual, you have to pay entrance fee, ticket only IDR 15k. To enter every area of Pura in Bali for those who wear pants or dress above knee should wear Sarong. I think this is a good tradition because wherever we are we should respect the place.
To reach the mouth of Elephant Cave you have to descend the stairs, from above, you can see the mouth area of Elephant Cave, the rocks of the former destroyed buildings and the bathing pool or petirtaan. Please don’t jump because you can’t wait to see it, you have to be patient down every step. Ha ha
The bathing pool or Petirtaan there are 7 statues. 3 Widyadari statues in the north and 3 Widyadari statues in the south, flanking 1 statue Widyadara. You can really wash your face there but be careful because it's slippery.

In front of Goa Gajah there are 2 statues of guards, and 7 other statues. 5 on the left and 2 on the right. When you look up you will see the beautiful Elephant Cave carvings.

Elephant Cave this can be entered. The area in Elephant Cave is in the letter T. This cave is rather narrow can only be passed by 1 or 2 people. On the left and right there is a niche to meditate
and at the eastern end of the alley there is a Trilingga and west of Ganesha statue. So this cave used to be used for ascetic and worship

I think what it feels like to be an ascetic, far from all worldly things and just focus on God. I think everyone always has a feeling to be closer to his God. In many ways.
Once satisfied with the photos inside cave, let's roam in again. Down the stairs again we will find the river and lotus pond. Because rarely exercise up and down the stairs his way is quite tiring for me. Evidence that I lack sports, I finally gave up and decided to sit for a moment near the lotus pond. Although I was tired but all tired it was healed with all the beautiful scenery. I’m grateful to come to Elephant Cave, Because I think my time is valuable to enjoy to the beauty that God created. I hope everyone who reads my blog also has a desire to come, like when I see a photo on the desk calendar at that time. ^^
